Community Guidelines
Effective date: 24 October 2026
PvPScout only works if players can trust what they see. These guidelines explain what is and is not allowed when you vote, review, report, list a server or take part in our challenges and leaderboards. They apply to everyone: players, server owners, staff of listed servers and advertisers. They are part of our Terms of Service.
1. Fair voting
Votes decide the rankings, so we protect them carefully. Each signed-in user can vote once per server per UTC day, and monthly totals reset on the 1st of each month.
Not allowed:
- using bots, scripts, automation tools or browser extensions to vote;
- creating or using multiple accounts, shared accounts or bought accounts to vote;
- using VPN or proxy farms, click farms or emulators to fake votes;
- buying or selling votes, or paying anyone to vote;
- vote-for-reward schemes run by server owners, such as giving in-game items, currency, coins, ranks or other rewards in exchange for votes on PvPScout;
- vote exchanges ("you vote for mine, I vote for yours") organised between servers;
- encouraging your community to mass-report or downvote competitors.
Server owners may ask their players to vote for them, as long as no reward or pressure is involved. A simple "If you enjoy the server, vote for us on PvPScout" is fine.
2. Honest reviews
Reviews should help other players decide. Write about your own real experience.
- No fake reviews. Do not write reviews for servers you have not played, or under someone else's name.
- No incentivised reviews. Do not offer or accept items, money, ranks or other rewards for writing a review or for giving a particular rating.
- Disclose your connection. If you are an owner, game master, moderator, developer or other staff member of a server, or have a business relationship with it, say so clearly in your review. Undisclosed reviews by staff will be removed.
- No review attacks. Do not post coordinated negative reviews against a competitor.
- Stay on topic. Talk about gameplay, stability, staff, economy, events and community. Personal disputes belong elsewhere.
- No ads or spam in reviews. Do not promote other servers, post referral links, Discord invites for other communities or unrelated content.
Critical reviews are welcome, as long as they are honest and not abusive. Server owners cannot have a review removed just because it is negative.
3. Respect for people
- No hate speech. Do not attack people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- No harassment or threats. Do not insult, bully, threaten or intimidate other users, server owners or staff.
- No doxxing. Never share someone's personal information, such as real name, address, phone number, photos, IP address or workplace, without their permission.
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, server, PvPScout staff or a game publisher.
- No sexual or graphic violent content, and nothing that sexualises minors, ever.
4. Safety and security
- No malware or phishing. Do not post links or files that contain viruses, trojans, keyloggers, stealers or fake login pages.
- No cheat, hack or bot sales. Do not sell, advertise or share cheats, hacks, bots, exploits or tools that give unfair advantages or break other players' experience.
- No real-money trading of accounts or items through PvPScout.
- No scams. Do not run giveaways, "free item" offers or payment schemes designed to trick people.
- No illegal content of any kind.
5. Server listings
Listings must give players an honest picture of the server.
- Accurate information. Name, game, version, rates, features, links and screenshots must be true and current.
- Real opening dates. Do not post fake or constantly shifting opening dates to stay at the top of "new" or "opening soon" lists.
- One listing per server. Do not create duplicate or clone listings for the same server, even under different names. If you relaunch a server, update your existing listing or contact us.
- No clone listings of other servers. Do not copy another server's name, logo, description or images to mislead players.
- Working, safe links. Website, download and Discord links must work and must not lead to malware or phishing.
- Rights to your content. Only upload images, videos and text you have the right to use.
- Keep it updated. If your server closes, mark it as closed or ask us to remove the listing.
Paid placements (Featured, Boost, Pro) must also follow these rules and the Advertising and Listing Policy.
6. XP, challenges, referrals and leaderboards
- Earn XP, badges, streaks and leaderboard positions through normal use only.
- Do not invite your own alternate accounts through the referral program or ask people to sign up just to vote once for you.
- Do not use automation to complete challenges.
7. Reporting
If you see something that breaks these rules, use the Report button on the listing, review or profile, or email abuse@pvpscout.com. Tell us what is wrong and include links or screenshots where you can. Reports are confidential; we do not tell the reported user who reported them.
Please do not file false or bad-faith reports. Abusing the reporting system is itself a breach of these guidelines.
8. What happens when rules are broken
We look at the seriousness of the breach, whether it was intentional, and any past history. Possible actions include:
| Action | Examples of when we use it |
|---|---|
| Warning | First minor breach, such as an off-topic review |
| Content removal | Fake, incentivised or abusive review; misleading listing details |
| Vote removal | Votes we detect as automated or manipulated are discarded |
| XP, badge or leaderboard reset | Abuse of challenges, referrals or streaks |
| Listing hidden or delisted | Vote-for-reward schemes, fake opening dates, clone or duplicate listings, unsafe links |
| Feature restriction | Temporary block on voting, reviewing or reporting |
| Account suspension or permanent ban | Serious or repeated breaches, malware, doxxing, threats, cheat sales |
Paid placements may be removed without refund when a listing is hidden or banned for breaking these rules, to the extent permitted by law.
We may also report illegal content to the competent authorities where the law requires.
9. Appeals
If you think we made a mistake, reply to the notice you received or email abuse@pvpscout.com within 30 days with your username, the content or listing concerned, and why you disagree. A person who was not involved in the original decision will review it where possible, and we will tell you the outcome. Users in the EU may also have other options under the Digital Services Act, such as certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies.
10. Changes
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. The latest version always applies.
Thank you for helping keep PvPScout fair.
