Advertising and Listing Policy
Effective date: 24 October 2026
This policy explains how advertising and paid listing placements work on PvPScout, what we allow, and what we never allow. It applies to server owners who buy Featured, Boost or Pro placements, to advertisers who buy banner space, and to every free listing. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Our principles
- Votes cannot be bought. No paid product adds votes, changes star ratings, removes reviews or changes the vote-based ranking. Rankings by votes stay organic.
- Sponsored means labelled. Every paid placement and every ad is clearly marked, for example with "Featured", "Sponsored", "Boost" or "Ad".
- Players come first. We reject ads and listings that could harm players, even if they are paid.
2. Free listings
Listing a server is free. Every listing, paid or not, must:
- be submitted by the server owner or someone authorised by them;
- describe the server accurately (game, version, rates, features, opening date, links);
- follow the Community Guidelines, including one listing per server and no clone listings;
- link only to safe, working websites, downloads and Discord servers.
We may review, request changes to, hide or remove any listing.
3. Paid listing placements
| Product | Price (USD) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Featured listing | $9.99 one-time, 7 days | Featured placement and label for 7 days |
| Boost | $14.99 / month per server | Highlighted server card, Boost tag, higher placement within its game's listing |
| Pro | $39.99 / month per server | Rotation in the homepage featured area, Featured badge, priority verification, one social media shoutout per month |
How these placements work:
- Placement, not ranking. Boost and Pro give a server a more visible position or area, separate from or marked within the organic list. The organic vote-based order, vote counts and ratings are not changed.
- Rotation. Where several servers share a featured area, they rotate. We do not guarantee a specific position, number of impressions or clicks.
- Priority verification means your verification request is reviewed before standard requests. It does not guarantee that verification will be granted.
- Social media shoutout means one post per month on at least one of our channels (such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X or Telegram), with content and timing decided by us. Shoutouts are marked as sponsored where required.
- Placements are per server and cannot be moved to another server without our agreement.
- Prices, renewals and cancellations are covered by our Refund and Subscription Terms.
4. Banner advertising
We sell banner placements directly in the following positions:
- top of the homepage;
- inline within server lists;
- sidebar;
- server detail pages.
We also show ads through Google AdSense. Personalised AdSense ads are only shown to users who consent; others may see non-personalised ads. Premium members browse without ads.
To book a direct banner, email ads@pvpscout.com with the placement, dates and creative. We review every creative before it goes live. Technical specifications (sizes, file types, weight limits) are provided on request.
5. Prohibited content
We do not accept ads, listings, sponsored posts or links that promote or contain:
- Malware, viruses, stealers, keyloggers, phishing pages, fake launchers or any harmful software;
- Cheats, hacks, bots or exploits, or services that sell them;
- Gambling or betting, including casinos, sports betting, loot-box style real-money gambling, skin gambling and lotteries;
- Adult content, sexual services or sexually explicit material;
- Real-money trading (RMT) of game accounts, items, gold or currency;
- Scams, pyramid schemes, fake giveaways or "get rich quick" offers;
- Misleading claims, such as fake player counts, fake opening dates, invented awards, false "official server" claims, or using a game publisher's branding to suggest an affiliation that does not exist;
- Hate, discrimination, harassment or violent extremism;
- illegal products or services, weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- content that targets or is inappropriate for children.
We may also refuse ads that are technically disruptive (auto-playing sound, pop-ups, forced redirects, excessive file size) or that we consider harmful to our users or reputation.
6. Trademarks and game names
You may use a game's name to describe what your server is based on (for example "Metin2 private server"). You may not suggest that your server is official, licensed or endorsed by the game's publisher unless that is true and you can prove it. Do not use publishers' logos or artwork in a way that misleads players. PvPScout is not affiliated with any game publisher, and rights holders can send notices under our Copyright and Trademark Notice policy.
7. Review and enforcement
- We review new listings, paid placements and ad creatives before or shortly after they go live, and keep monitoring them.
- If an ad or placement breaks this policy, we may reject it, pause it, remove it, or hide the listing, and we may suspend the account.
- When a placement is removed because the buyer broke this policy, the Community Guidelines or our Terms, we may not refund it, to the extent permitted by law. If we remove a placement for a reason that is not your fault, we will offer a pro-rated credit or refund.
- Advertisers are responsible for their ads and the sites they link to, and for complying with all laws that apply to them, including consumer protection and advertising laws.
8. Disclosure
Paid placements and ads are labelled so that players can tell them apart from organic results. Server owners must not hide the commercial nature of their content, for example by posting paid promotional reviews.
